NARS Orgasm Blush ($26 @ Sephora and most department stores) is the best. Period. It looks good on practically everyone. Sephora.com describes it as “peachy pink with shimmer” and it’s the perfect everyday blush. Now if you are looking for a particular shade of blush that’s a different matter (sometime soon I’ll give a detailed account of my search for the perfect coral blush), but NARS Orgasm is the perfect everyday blush – you will never convince me otherwise. It’s constantly a best seller, rated best blush by some magazine year after year, universally flattering, and it’s got a great name to boot! I know $26 seems like a lot, and it is, but this blush is amazing and it lasts quite a long time too. I’ve used it on a regular basis for 2+ years and am still on my first one.
I would also highly recommend other NARS blushes, they come in a wide range of flattering colors – other personal favorites of mine are Oasis and Luster. The Orgasm multiple is also awesome, especially if you like a cream-type blush rather than a powder. I haven’t tried the Orgasm illuminator that they came out with this summer though, so if anyone has any news on that I’d love to hear it! Two Orgasm products that I don’t recommend are Super Orgasm (kind of a good idea theoretically but just too damn sparkly) and the nail polish (a good blush does not necessarily translate into a good nail color), they just don’t do it for me.
While we’re on the subject of I might as well tell you guys that I am a NARS girl. You’ll be seeing lots of posts from me about NARS products, and they deserve it too. I’m a picky girl (if you continue to follow this blog you’ll figure this out) and if I stick with a brand that means they’re the real deal.
I’m also a Sephora girl. Meg likes MAC which often sends her to department stores, but to MAC I say “ehh” and I’m a Sephora girl through and through. I love the wide array of products, the fact that I don’t have to deal with uppity, annoying, overly made up department store sales ladies, and most of all Sephora’s return policy. You can return anything that is less than a third used. It’s amazing because you can try a product for a day or so and then decide if it’s really what you want! Oh, and no receipt? No problem, just get Sephora store credit!
I hope what I’ve just said has sold non-Sephora girls. I also hope what I’ve just said doesn’t make people abuse that great policy. That was definitely not the point. The point is, go to Sephora, buy NARS Orgasm blush, try it, love it. If you don’t, return it! But I think you’ll find you love it.
