By now most of you have seen Deepika Padukone‘s gorgy retro look on this January’s cover of Filmfare Magazine. To imitate, pair a flirty olive-brown winged eye with a peach-pink cheek and matching lipstick– try MAC Lipstick in Fanfare.

In contrast, someone at Hi! Blitz deserves a slap on the wrist for allowing Imran Khan to appear in front of the camera in this state. Someone get him a glass of water and a Blistex!

I love you, Femina Magazine India, for finally getting PeeCee out of her maroon lipstick and into a va-va-voom coral-orange shade on your May 2012 cover! Wow! It’s incredible how a new shade of lipstick can instantly energize and refresh this beautiful woman’s face. Are you listening, dearest Priyanka Chopra?!

To get this fresh look for summer, look no further than MAC Lipstick in Vegas Volt.

As soon as I applied it this morning, I knew I HAD to share this lip color with you all! My newest makeup craze is LIP STAINS. I think they are the bomb diggity. The one I am wearing here is a new purchase from Ulta: Palladio Lip Stain in Rose.

The lipstain comes in a marker form (so you basically color in your lips with a makeup marker, how fun is that?). It smells yummy, and has no discernible taste. You apply it on dry, bare lips (lip balm underneath will only cause it to slide off or fade, defeating the point of a lip “stain”). Apply evenly, keeping your lips open to allow them to dry. After 30 seconds, feel free to top with your favorite lip balm, and watch as the lip stain lasts ALL day, through drinking, eating, talking, and more– with NO transfer onto coffee cups or spoons! I will let the “Rose” color speak for itself in the pictures. I highly, highly recommend this lip color for any girl with olive, tan, or dark skin. And what’s best, it’s only $5.99!

What do you ladies think? Have you tried a lip stain before? … Have I convinced you yet?

Hi JA readers! My apologies for the lack of posts recently… I moved, started a new job… you know, got super busy! Will try to make it up to you with a How to Look Like Katrina Kaif post, coming soon. In the meanwhile, I’ve got a trick to share with you.

This afternoon at work, I wanted to reapply a lip color after lunch. I happened to have my favorite red lipstick, NYX Round Lipstick in Snow White, in my purse, along with my chapstick (Burt’s Bees Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil).

Now, anyone who wears red lipstick knows it’s really hard to apply perfectly without at least a minute’s concerted effort and a lip brush. I, of course, being stuck at my desk and afraid of my boss walking in on me fussing with my makeup, did not have either of these luxuries available to me. So what did I do?

I rubbed a little lipstick onto my chapstick! Sounds weird, right? Well- it totally worked! I then smoothed the tinted-chapstick over my lips and got a gorgeous, very well-lubricated lip color- not quite as dark a red as the lipstick alone is, but it totally packed a punch! What’s more, it was neat and so much easier to apply than the lipstick itself, because it had the added smoothness and glide of the chapstick.

Try it! Instant red lip in ten seconds without any fuss! I recommend starting in the center of your lips, away from the edges, and working your way outward to prevent messiness. As a more general rule, I also recommend carrying a mirror in your purse at all times.

P.S. If you don’t already, I HIGHLY recommend you follow us on Twitter @jolieasie! Even during our blogging lulls I like to post links to amazing beauty websites and news that have caught my eye that I know you guys would love!

I absolutely love the Lord of the Rings books and movies, and I think Liv Tyler looked absolutely beautiful as the Elvish Princess Arwen.  In the books, Arwen is said to be the most beautiful lady in all of Middle Earth and Liv Tyler, in the movies, does that statement justice.  She’s absolutely radiant.

To get her lovely, lush lips Liv used Clinique’s cult classic Black Honey Almost Lipstick.  After I discovered that color was what Liv used in the movies I immediately tried it and now it’s my go-to favorite lip color!
